The brief
The brief for this Tamarin villa was a staircase that disappeared — the owners wanted light to travel through the double-height living room without a heavy flight blocking the view to the sea.
How we solved it
A hidden central steel stringer carries solid mahogany treads, each one cantilevered and fixed with concealed brackets. A frameless glass balustrade keeps the silhouette clean while meeting safety requirements for the family's young children.
